Does this cpu fan require to take out the motherboard for installing it? I was going to get it for my new pc but its out of stock on komplett! So I have to wait to the end of the month for it.. Im ordering my pc next week!

I dont want to have to take all the parts to put it on!

Ive checked pictures on google and stuff and I dont think it does I just wana make sure!

Install instructions are posted in a flash movie on Zalman's site for each cooler and type of socket.

I assume it is socket 775 for that it uses a back plate so you will need access to the back of the motherboard even if it's a 9700.

Artic Cooling are one of the few good & quiet coolers that uses the stock mounting mechanism if you don't want to take everything out.

Ive the 9700 and it looks absolutly wicked but at 800g its a bit worrying when your case is vertical

Edit: Oh and you will have to take off the mobo

Yeah, you have to take out the board. Don't worry about the weight, the backplate is pretty sturdy. If you don't want to wait, PC World have them for 98c more. Just make sure you have a 120mm fan sucking in air from the front and another blowing it out the back.

The actual store. Waterford's PC World is fairly ****ty though, but try anyway. I know they're definately in stock in Cork atm. Saw them last night.

Personally I didn't like my 9500, I was glad to replace it with a Tuniq Tower. The Zalmans need good airflow in the case to work well so if your case doesn't have a decent circulation of air i'd consider getting a different cooler.
