qoute - "The Board of Health is trying to completely BAN most body piercings.

There is another meeting being held at 9:30 AM this Thursday, March 29th at the H. Lee Dennison Building, located at 100 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Hauppauge NY

You don't have to be a body piercer or tattoo artist to attend. The only thing that is required is a photo ID.

PLEASE come and show your support and/or voice your opinion on the matter!!!
If no one shows up like last time, these laws will be passed!"

    this bull?

but look at the address of the meeting, it's in NY, not Ireland, it's got nothing to do with over here.

I would call bull**** on this in general. Google brings up no corresponding articles, and there doesn't seem to be a body in the US or New York simply called 'The Board of Health'.

I agree, Total rubbish, applies to alot of stuff on myspace.

Honestly it would be like having a meeting to ban nail polish. :=)

But I can understand your concern.

That would be totally gay. It confuses me that they would even think that it would be acceptable to take away a person's right to poke holes in themselves. Why stop there, why not ban tattoos or cosmetic surgery, or haircuts, or wearing certain types of clothes. It's a ridiculous proposal.

As is my standpoint on most issues, if you don't like something don't do it, stop trying to stop other people from doing things, it's not your place to tell people what to do.

Everyone with "alternative" lifestyles or tastes should get together and try and ban discrimination and attepts to stop them expressing themselves. If people spent less time worrying about what other people are doing we'd have a much better world. (I should be a prophet)

ok......im a body piercer myself and there is no way they could bann body piercing, first its against ure own human rights, second its been around for hundreds or thousands of years for that matter so they cant ban it. even Royal pple got piecings hence the name Prince Albert........ all it is is small minded pple that know nothin about piercings so they try ban it but wat they dont realise is that its not underground anymore and there are more pple with piercings around the world then there are catholics ha ha so no fear theres not a chance this will happened and its in america so where cool for now. even if by some act of god they did ban it i know id still pierce myself along with millions of other pple so it would not really hlp anyway.......

second its been around for hundreds or thousands of years for that matter so they cant ban it.

So have murder, rape, slavery, ritual mutilation (I'm not talking piercings or tattoos but cases like female circumcision), just because something is an established practice doesn't mean it's exempt from banning.

    1. It's already been stated that this is complete bullshít.

    2. I don't remember anything about that in the UN Declaration of Human Rights.

As far as *here* is concerned, I don't think we need worry.

It'll never happen here. Regardless of the truth of that article, Irish medical professionals have the common sense to know banning piercing and/or tattooing will only result in home piercings, underground studios with bad hygiene, and extreme health risks with both.
