Good open-source web dev environment

Guys I have to do some front end design (HTML,JavaScript) for a project Im doing and Im looking for a good Open-Source editor or Web Development software to help me along the way. I was looking at "NVU" (www.nvu.com) but it doesnt support frames or JavaScript apparently. Any help or pointers are much appreciated. Cheers
