Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Doesn't Spur Staekhouse in liffey vally do a 64oz steak once or twice a week you have to book in advance but if you can manage to finish it all incl the trimmings you dont have to pay !!! me thinks a big sleep would be needed after injesting so much meat in one sitting !

Im more of a grazer..... Would they let me eat / sleep / shower / **** / shave / **** in there whilst I took about a day to eat that steak? I wonder if I stay in there for a day is it still free?

Dont worry lads, I was joking about the showering and shaving.
I just looked at the ole armpit clock, and it says shower season is coming late this year.

My Fav Simpsons quote of all time

"Lionel Hutz: Mrs. Simpson, in your own words, please tell us what happened after you and your husband were ejected from the restaurant.
Marge: We pretty much went straight home.
Hutz: Remember, Mrs. Simpson, you're still under oath.
Marge: We drove around until 3:00 in the morning looking for another open all-you-can-eat seafood restaurant.
Hutz: And when you couldn't find any?
    Marge [weeping]: We went fishing!
Hutz: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do these sound like the actions of a man who's had ALL he could eat?
    Fat Jury: [murmurmed agreements]
Fat Jury Man: That could have been me!"

We should hold a BGRH in the spur steakhouse some weekend and get one of the brothers among us to take hte challenge out ther
If he failed, people could throw in €2 each to help the stuffed brother out.........although he'd probably be shunned from the brother hood for a few weeks afterwards!!!

My mate did it at the spursteakhouse at the weekend.

    64 ounces of cheap rump.

He managed to eat all the meat but wouldnt eat the fat rinds around it so they told him he failed.

    60 euro it cost

    bunch of cheating b@stards

Don't think I could handle the fat rinds myself......I'd just tell them to bring me out a 16oz to wash it down!!!

Me thinks it in the region of €60 and It has to be booked in advance as they only do a limited amount per week !!

Hopefully I'll be paying a visit over the weekend ( Not for the 64oz ) and I'll post back a correct price - maybe even a pic of the menu entry ! unless someone out that direction can post before me !!!

    ...and by the way.

Those brothers who said they wouldn't eat the fat rinds.

What's going on here, they are probably the best for extending the girth.

    I accept the challenge.

Gods the title of this thread was making me drool before I opened it.
I only had a large lump of nearly raw steak last night but watching them prepare the 4 and 1/2 pounds of it on you tube had me wiping my chin.

I'd eat that steak, drink ten beers and still feel hungry half an hour later.Bring it ON!

I overlooked that second link, a 35.6kg burger that costs €387 by todays rate... and I thought Thailand is meant to be cheap

A McDonalds cheeseburger weight 114 grams, so going by the weight of the burger above I would need 312 cheeseburgers to equal it...which at 1€ a pop is €312... so that leaves €75 for beer... and they talk about rip-off Ireland

How about all "The Brothers" have a big night out and we'll seperate the men from the boys.

I have my very strong doubts about who even has a beer gut and receeding hair line that frequent this forum.

Maybe we should test this so called 64 oz steak. We could all "book" in advance and put this steakhouse out of business. They won't know what hit them.

CALLING ALL BROTHERS ARE YOU WITH ME?

Well that depends on what type of cow we are talking about??

    _1476141_foot_mouth_300.jpg

But I don't see how this matters, there's a bit of effort involved in getting the cow from the field to putting her on a plate... and effort is something that doesn't exist in the brethern dictionary!

But getting back to my point 312 cheeseburgers and you've €75 left to wash it down!!

Oh and aye I'd be up for this steak event... we should make it a flash mob type event, they won't know what hit them!

You can't all land in and expect for them to be able to cater to a large group esp if there are those who which thier steak to be rare or blue.

A while back I organised a carnivore's dinner for a group of my friends who are all steak eaters and who hate to have to deal with red meat snobs and having to put up the looks of disguist as your dinner starts to bleed on to the plate when you start enjoying it.

Basically we booked out FXB in temple bar and everyone order fillet of steak blue and gorged ourselves into a meat stupor.

    Serious question here.

Why would it be harder for them to prepare blue/rare steak?

    I don't get it?

For the record, I do like blue steak. Nyom.
