Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Guys does anyone know if there is any truth in the rumour about 1cent calls with O2 on speakeasy at night.... Basically only use the phone to ring the girlfriend and the ma, organise the social life in work over email and deskphone....

Was thinking about porting to meteor - but dont know if there would be much point if this offer from o2 is correct?

Does anyone have any perls of wisdom for me - before I pay a visit to the carphone warehouse and end up feeling like a dope afterwards?

    Much Appreciated!

    J

It depends on your usage and what network the people you talk to most are on.

Because you dont use your phone that often pre pay is probably your best option. If your contacts are on Meteor then you'll have the choice between free texts to these numbers or 5c calls(which is pretty reasonable if your usage is low). You do need to opt into this promotion and top up your phone by €20 in one go every 30 days to retain it though.

Not too sure about 02 but if they are offering them rates on calls I very much doubt it covers other networks.

O2 has unlimited free O2 to O2 calls at the weekend on new Active Life signups at the moment!

Not 100% sure if texts are included, don't think so.

IIRC, Vodafone have unlimited calls to other Vodafone numbers at anytime on the Perfect 400 and 600 options. Think it is €69 a month. Not sure if that fits in with your budget or not:

There should also be some new prepaid tariffs launching very soon that might be of interest to you.

Looks pretty sweet. Like meteor's free texts, only to 2 million people!

Don't really know what the weekends thing is about, doesn't look half as good as the free texts!

As the man above said.. Top up with €20 every 30 days and choose between unlimited calls and texts on weekends (6pm on Friday to 8am on Monday) or unlimited texts 365 days a year to Vodafone Ireland numbers.

Obvious comparisons can be made with the Meteor offer of free texts or 5cent calls. One thing helps the Vodafone offer stand out a little more is their installed base.

With O2, you nominate 3 numbers which are on the O2 network and then depending on your plan (Earlybird or Nightowl) you can call the 3 nominated numbers during stipulated hours for 1c per minute. Texts not included.

Why are people afraid to ring the networks and ask them over thre phone? Thats their job!
