Depends which route you take but I'm sure it's a lot less than 40 the way we go. And the airport is definitely closer depending on how much of ride the taxi driver takes you for.

Got my confirmation email just now - phew! :p

Am confused by a couple things though.
Ended up having to book a festival+coach ticket, but they still told me
"Your tickets will be available for collection at the venue box office. "
but I'll excuse that comment on the assumption that its a general email and does not relate to those of us on the coach....?

What does worry me though is
"Please quote the reference number(s) above and take the card you booked with for identification when you collect your tickets. IMPORTANT - tickets will only be issued to the card holder, on production of the card used to place the order."

Surely this isn't the case? I used my mother's credit card to book my ticket, for example. I'm assuming I don't have to bring both my mother and her card along to Glastonbury!?!?

    just got my confirmation .
You have booked to attend GLASTONBURY 2007 TICKET & COACH PACKAGE at Worthy Farm, Pilton-Somerset on 22-24 June 2007 You have ordered the following tickets Reference ######## - 2 ADULT 16+ at £ 150.00Reference ####### - 2 LONDON THURSDAY DEPARTURE at £ 42.00 Your tickets will be available for collection at the venue box office. Please quote the reference number(s) above and take the card you booked with for identification when you collect your tickets. IMPORTANT - tickets will only be issued to the card holder, on production of the card used to place the order. Please note, your order is subject to Glastonbury receiving authorisation from your card issuer for the requested funds. Should, for any reason, your card issuer fail to give Glastonbury authorisation you will be notified. Please check your order upon receipt and notify us of any discrepancies. We areunable to rectify problems once the festival has taken place.

I had to book tickets with the coach but dont reckon ill actually use the bus for some drunken haze of a reason i booked the coach from london on thursday. the email sais i can collect the ticket from the boxoffice but a bird on the phone said they will be given out on the bus and if i dont take the bus i wont get my tickets.

What you rekon. I dont particullarly want to have to fly to london and then get on a bus alway the the site.

    anyone else doing this

The information given out for International tickets combined with coach travel does seem to contradict itself a bit. My guess would be that they will ignore the fact that your tickets are international and have them on the bus for you the same as everyone else. The only reason for the international ones now needing to be collected from Shepton is to do with them not wanting to worry about the postage costs for a large number of international orders, and then there being more opportunity for tickets to go missing in the system as well. If the bus driver is doing the delivery for them in person then that solves that problem for them.

They don't seem to be bothered about having the card that booked the ticket in previous years when collecting from the office in Shepton either and have never asked for it before for any that I have ordered.

    Edit:

I think that you will have to take the bus from London, but that does not mean that you need to go back from their though. You can always miss the bus back at stupid'o'clock on the Monday morning and fly back from Bristol at a more sensible time.

    hey eoin,
i've booked the same as you - pick-up in london thursday.
not sure if its the best idea either myself, but i may be flying onwards after Glasto, so it was easier to chose london. plus with more flight options, the prices will hopefully stay down for a bit.
i reckon you'll have to get the bus in order to collect your tickets. you could probably make your own way for getting home, but there were lots of notices on the site saying you MUST be on the bus to collect your ticket if you booked a Coach ticket, because the tickets will be given out during the journey.
What I'm wondering is, when are they going to tell us what time coach we're on?? (they also specified that you must get on the coach they designate you - which would seem important if thats when they're gonna give us our tickets). I wanna book my flights sooner rather than later.

just got mine there. Have a new fear though. My credit card balance is nearly maxed out and it's possible that it might be rejected

If i don't get a failed credit notice before tomorrow morning i should be OK becasue my account should be fin ethen. tense times.

Do you reckon there might be a delay taking funds for tickets?

Don't know about the rest of your query but I remember in 2005 it took them a while(2 weeks for me) to actually debit my account. I think though they actually check your account has sufficient funds before confirming your order via email? Could be wrong though. Also I heard they(Seetickets) were ringing people to clear up any issues with credit cards instead of just cancelling the order straight away. All of this is hearsay of course, its very hard to get definite information at this confusing time :(

have any of you guys ever got the train from bristol temple mead down to castle cary?

Looking on national rail enquiries http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/ it's between an hour and an hour & 1/2.

free shuttle bus to shepton mallet to get your tickets & back and free shuttle bus to site.

Assuming alot of queuing involved there!.
Don't do it! It'll cost a fortune and take forever. It works out much better just to book a taxi from Bristol (Airport, assuming you're flying in) to Shepton Mallet, get him to stop there for a few minutes while you collect tickets and run to the supermarket for beer, then onwards to Worthy Farm in the same car.

I booked one in advance last time with a local taximan (got his number from the Glastonbury forums) and it worked out at something like £35/40 (between 5 of us), as opposed to something like £30/40 each (plus half a day wasted) via public transport. He picked us up after the festival up the road in Pilton as well, but we rang him yesterday and he's left the taxi game now :(. He gave us the numbers of a couple of other cheap taxi firms from the area - haven't rung them yet but if they sound promising, I'll post their details here if anyone's interested.

Apparently the taxi crowd at the airport are fine too, but I don't think you'd be able to arrange a post-festival pick-up with them.

Got confirmation yesterday, not sure how I am getting there yet. Dublin to Bristol seems the best bet but I may get the Ferry over. Does anyone know the average size of a one man/2 man tent is in terms of throwing it in as luggage on a Ryanair flight?

So has anyone who bought the international tickets had their credit charged. yet?

I'm getting nervous again. From the Glasto message boards there seems to be some trouble with a lot of the UK orders with their accounts being charged and then the money being refunded back to them

My credit card hasn't been charged yet either...but the same seems to have happened with a fair few people. I think they're just reeeallly slow at everything in seetickets! I'm still waiting for them to confirm if i've to get on that godforsaken coach on Wed too
so much for me thinking i'd be extra organised by getting a coach tic!! :o

I haven't been charged yet either. Fingers crossed that it will be today or tomorrow

Yeh nothing here yet or with any of my friends. I dont believe there was a cardholders name field on the booking page so I bet theres been lots of fun with trying to get the banks to put the charge through. I just hope that if theres a problem we will be getting a chance to fix it like the UK orders that had issues with payment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,836 ✭✭✭Toast

Apparently the account they were using was frozen because of money laundering fears!! Allegedly payment should be taken out tonight. If anyone sees any movement in their account can they post to say so.

If anyone is still after tickets and also missed out on the resale on Sunday morning just gone there is still a slim chance of tickets, but you will have to buy one of the coach ticket packages.

    Details available here.
