Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

360 compatible with Philips TVs on PAL 60?

Bought a 360 there yesterday with Gears of War and some other wrestling thing that came in the bundle....and it basically seems that my EUR1000 2 year old philips widescreen TV (normal "CRT" not plasma - model 28PW9509 to be precise) can't handle the PAL 60 mode required for Gears of War (and the wrestling thing for that matter).

My EUR120 bush portable can display Gears of War on PAL 60 no problem, but when I try to hook it up to the widescreen TV, all I get is solid green/gray flashing screen. It can display the xbox dashboard at PAL 50 no problem, but not at PAL 60.

Anyone else out there running their Xbox on a Philips TV have the same problem?

Hey, I had the exact same problem. Have a top of the range Philips Cineos 32" flat screened crt and GOW would not run on 60hz even though the tv is capable of 100hz. I thought my tele was vvanked. Rang up Philips support line and was gob-smacked to get in contact with someone who actually knew what they were talking about. Turns out the RGB cable you get with the box is not really RGB and the tv picks up on this. I had to buy an advanced AV cable like this one for 24 yoyos.

I pickd up mine in argos http://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=30001&langId=-1&catalogId=10751&productId=750370&clickfrom=name

Also, I couldn't believe the difference it made to the games that ran in 50hz. When I played PGR on the ordinary cable I was disappointed with the graphics. I felt my PS2 could have done as well. But with the new cable it completely transformed the game. It actually looks like next gen graphics now. If you have a CRT tv then this cable is a must buy for the xbox 360.
