    Hi all,
Would there be any problem picking up a radio signal if I bought a cd head-unit from Germany? I know the yank head-units won't pick up a reception, but would this apply to the krauts as well?
    Thanks in advance.

You will be fine. I bought a VW radio/navigation unit from Germany (Fleabay) for my Dads car. It works perfectly. The FM band is standard from a European perspective. Just be sure that the unit comes with English language support.

With USA radios the tuning is in 2.0MHz steps - unlike our European radios that tune in either 1.0Mhz or 0.5Mhz steps. US FM tuners tune with the first decimal place an odd number - i.e. you cn tune to 88.5MHz and 88.7MHz but not to 88.6MHz.

It's no problem, and head units from Germany are dirt cheap. I've used http://www.caraudio-versand.de, and they are very quick with delivery. All european FM is standardised as mentioned above into the even decimals. I would recommend picking up a Becker HU, they are excellent and can be had for half the cost there compared to any place I enquired in Dublin.

I'd have to agree - Becker are excellent. But I'd recommend upgrading the speakers too so you can experience all the quality a Becker has to offer.
