Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

St Patrick's Athletic v Cork City team news
    Monday, 2 April 2007 11:09

St Patrick's Athletic can secure top spot, and a home semi-final, with a draw against Cork City in their Setanta Sports Cup match at Richmond Park.

A draw will be enough to secure second place for City regardless of what happens elsewhere.

Pat's are hoping Anto Murphy can recover from the leg injury, which resulted in him limping out of Friday's win over Bray Wanderers. If he misses out, Dave Mulcahy, who replaced him on Friday, may come in.

Stephen Quigley missed the win over Bray with a shoulder injury and may miss out again. Friday's hat-trick hero Mark Quigley will partner Gary O'Neill up front.

City have no major injury worries and their only concern is the continued absence of Gareth Farrelly and Colin Healy because of the UEFA ruling.

Roy O'Donovan has been watched by cross-channel clubs and several representatives are expected to make the handy journey to Dublin to watch him in Inchicore.

A large crowd is expected and patrons are advised to arrive early. A ticket van will be in operation across the road from the ground opposite St Michaels's Church.

Draw will do but would like the win, can see a captains secret handshake tho.

Derry City v Glentoran team news

Derry City v Glentoran team news

Midfielder Paddy McCourt is Derry's big injury worry due to a hip problem ahead of tonight's must-win game in Setanta Cup Group One at the Brandywell.

Defender Ken Oman and winger Gareth McGlynn return to the squad.

"We've got to win this game; the players know that and we know what's at stake," said boss Pat Fenlon.

Bottom of Group 1 Glentoran are without defender Jason Hill and midfielder Dean Fitzgerald through suspension.

Boss Paul Millar waits on defender Cullen Feeney (ankle) and striker Tim McCann (calf).

Would imagine pats and cork fans more interested in this game rather than our own, would prefer Derry in Semi over anyone else.
Linfield v Drogheda United team news
    Monday, 2 April 2007 12:15

    Linfield v Drogheda United

Holders Drogheda United have midfielder Stuart Byrne back from suspension.

Goalkeeper Dan Connor (knee), defenders Graham Gartland (hamstring), Steven Gray (thigh) and midfielder James Keddy (thigh) remain out along with winger Richie Baker (groin).

Unbeaten Linfield can book their semi-final place by avenging last year's last four defeat to Drogheda.

However, either side can lose tonight and still qualify by winning their final match.

Can see linfield winning this if they want too but the propect of eliminating Derry would be nice for them.

Can Pats really keep this run up?
I hope so made me a fortune so far this season and been great to watch but the absence of Frost and Possibly Murphy could have a big impact

Frost isnt suspended for this but may be dropped so JMC can try out something different as he will be suspended on friday.

    Pats 1 Cork 0

Decent game Cork started well but once they went behind they reverted to Hoofing it and our back 3 did the same as when away and won every single header.

We had Mulcahy as a wingback not his prefered position but he scared kearney over to the other wing after about 10 minutes. Goal was a scrappy finish from a loose ball at a corner, O Neill and Kirby and Quigely had chances to wrap the game up but all shot directly at Devine, Ndo also had 2 chances to score but was very poor overall.

Mulcahy for man of the match for playing the right side pretty much on his own summing up our small squad that 2 players are out and we play a DMF at WB. Good win for us in the end Cork are easily beaten when forced to hoof it as Behan just isnt very good.

Gamble and Ryan should have been sent off at different times but both only got Yellows when Ryan raised his hand against a cork player who kick him in the head, Gamble lost the ball and lunged at Frost.

Keane and Mc Carthy were at the game both drank in different pubs :D A number of other Champ managers there if they to see O Donovan they went home wondering if Fahey for sale.

    That's the thing about him.

For all his plus points, sometimes he loses interest in a game early on, and when that happens you'd be better subbing him off.

Hasnt looked fully fit in any game but we can afford to carry him with the system JMC using , but in saying that there is 2 players on him everytime he gets the ball he just dances by them.

Summed up a lot of the game. City played the better football but went down to a scrappy goal and after that Pats had all the chances on the break.

When I saw the teams line out I was not filled with any confidence. No Flynny and our two internationals in no mans land:mad:

Colin O'Brien floated around coming 2nd best in every challenge and not doing much going forward either.

Behan is just not good enough. i mean Darragh Ryan put it on a plate and he missed. And he blasted 4/5 balls into the next parish in the 2nd half.

Impressed with Fahey and O'Neill, again, why we never went after either I'll never know.

The 1st had issues that would make even Georgie a good buy, then 2nd wanted a lot fo money and to stay in Dublin at the time you werent signing anyone.

Keane or McCarthy? This will go some way towards me deciding who was less in the wrong in Saipan.
