Finally a record label is changing and abandoning DRM in association with iTunes. Songs will cost €1.29, unsure about albums... Singles that users own can be converted for €0.30 as well. However it is yet to be decided what format the songs are to be relearsed in.(http://www.siliconrepublic.com/news/news.nv?storyid=single8069)

Some good artists signed to EMI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_musicians_signed_to_EMI)
But quite a lot of bad ones too!!!

Hopefully more labels will follow this lead. I think iTunes is a great store but I don't have an iPod so this is exactly what is needed (finally!!!).

As plainly as possible, what does this all mean?:o

This means you can buy the same songs but they will cost more than usual. DRM especially through iTunes isn't a problem to get around.

Actually it means that if you buy a song from iTunes, you can use it on your Creative Zen or Microsoft Zune or Sony player straight away rather than copying to a CD and then onto player. Up to now iTunes has really only been any good for those who bought an iPod.

Also found out that albums are same price...

It means you can copy your music to your PC, your Zen, your Archos, burn it onto a CD... and not worry about some sh|te saying "you can't do this".

The songs are still AAC. Most DAPs can't play these.
