Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    That is a little odd with the card reader plugged in what happens if you let it go through the driver searching process ?

    If the card reader shows up as an unknown device have you tried going into Windows update and checking to see if an optional update is listed this is usually a driver.

    Is your account an admin account ?

    Who makes the readers as I have two one from Belkin and the other from Sandisk & both work fine with my Vista laptop.

    I found on a website that said to disable the usb enhanced mod meaning usb 2.0 this was a beta copy of vista which they sent bug to microsoft

    http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=78405

    I did this and then the card readers works

    WTF back to usb 1.1

    had this problem on linux a while back but would not expect to see it
    in windows

    THIS APPEARS TO BE BUG IN VISTA..

    Crikey that is a weird one :confused:

    Well it may be worth picking up a Belkin reader if that is the case as no problems and it is correctly detected as a USB 2 hub as well.

    One other thing you don't have an NVIDIA chipset do you and 1-2GB of RAM ?

    But the device manage keeps looking for a device driver

    Well you've made more progress on the problem than I have only other suggestions I could make are;

    * Try clearing the CMOS.
    * Try plugging the reader into a different USB port.
    * Try removing the USB controllers in the device manager and let it re-install the driver.
    * Try Intel chipset drivers for Vista.
