I don't live in Sallins but I do know from passing through that there's very little in Sallins apart from the train station and a load of houses. However, Naas is just down the road and Newbridge isn't far either. Both nice towns with lots of amenities.

Incidentally, we looked at Sallins before we bought in Newbridge and chose Newbridge because there's a lot more in Newbridge and there's also a train station. There's also a greater selection of trains to/from Newbridge to Heuston than there is to/from Sallins. If you're not moving there because of the train or if you know your work hours suit a particular train, then that won't bother you.

Sallins is in a beautiful part of the world though. Lots of lovely walks to be had along by the canal.
