Lawnmower blade sharpening

I took off the blade from my petrol lawnmower at the weekend with the idea of getting it sharpened. It looks like there is only about 4-5" of a cutting edge on each side. I was thinking of bringing it somewhere to get it sharpened but they could charge me €20 for what looks like a few min work on an angle grinder. How…

How sharp do they really need to be?

I was thinking of filing each edge down and see how good I could make it.
