To follow up on the Election Issue thread; the one thing that pi55es me off is Election Posters. They should be banned. Why should a candidate put up a big poster? If they are good enough they will be known already.

"It was pointed out that the motion would have no legal basis and be a recommendation only"

    What a Farce.

They should allow posters on a few designated plywood hoardings around the city and ban them elsewhere. This is what many other countries do. Having them everywhere is a horrible eyesore and there are always a few left littering the place after the election.

    They're great for starting bon-fires.

    Occassionaly you make sense. :)

I think I would just like to actually see a poster with someone who I genuinely care to cast my vote for.

Rumour has it some candidates have already purchased them so they are pi55ed off.

Some candidates purchase their posters outside the 26 counties.

I would imagine it was good income from the Irish Printers who use to print them so they will lose out.

OK, its obvious that election posters bug a lot of people. BUT...you know you wait a while the usual come along and go and then you see one that well.. just warms yer heart.

I can see it on "reeling in the years": This man became an overnight sensation

    What a Loveable Rascal...

    That was terrifying...

They suggested the voluntary ban would happen in Galway because of the Volvo thingummy... It's like Tidy Towns with boats.
