I would be interested to see how successful the various media are for selling a car for Boardsies.

I have tried to include every medium, if I have forgotten one you might post it in the thread.

Eager to cast my vote :)

Buyandsell.net (including picture for about €10) did it for me the last time. Had it on adverts.ie and carzone.ie as well. Most of the interested calls came through carzone

Sold my first car to a friend (i think that should be an option)

    Sold my second thru carzone.

    Sold 1st car on Buy&Sell

    Sold 2nd car on carzone

Have advertised two cars since on carzone without any luck.

Alot of it is to do with the car & price. My Mx5 sold within a week. It was a low mileage example in great condition and I was asking for realistic money.

One with carzone and one with Autotrader. 2nd car was advertised with both but only Autotrader mag add generated calls.

Absolutely. Last car I sold was a low mileage Fiesta in great condition for realistic money. Took only 5 days to sell iirc

Me too, my last four cars have been sold (against my will!) to friends.

I put the following line in my Ad on Carzone. It might be a bit cheeky.
Don't choose a UK import from a non-SIMI Dealer over a genuine private sale!
I had mine up for a month on Carzone before christmas with no luck.

A lot of people don't understand that, ballooba. It might scare potential buyers away

Sold my last car to my brother, who has since sold it on to his brother-in-law, so at this rate everyone in the family will probably eventually have had a go.

The only car I've sold went through Buy&Sell the day I advertised it. I'm about to sell another one, though I'm not sure what the best option is as it's old and in need of some tidying.

One on here a few years ago, two in Carzone, one to a mate, one in CBG. I wouldn't put it on here again, far too much of "it's only worth €xxxx" and wannabe dealers with no cash trawling IMO.

Sold a Starlet about 2 weeks ago on Buy&Sell - went within 5 days, and I could have sold it 3 times since - it did have a full 2 yr fresh nct though.

    Carzone.ie sold my last yoke.
Had a notice in the rear window, had a LOT of time-wasters coming up to me - got one call from ad in buy&sell.
Had it in autotrader, no calls at all.
