Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Upgrading vista?

    Can I go from vista 32 bit to 64bit?

    Im installing vista home premium on to a new pc im building and im curious if I want to go up to 64bit to add more ram... Can I do this?

    Im using the oem version? The cheap one for system builders...

    You can't upgrade as in keep all your settings and stuff, but you can do a clean install of the 64 bit version. Note that the Home Premium DVD only contains the 32 bit version, you have to pay Microsoft about €12 to send you the 64 bit one. Ultimate comes with both versions in the box.

    edit: Oh, OEM version? Not sure what restrictions apply to that.

    Do you really need 4GB of RAM or more unless you are running specialist software that needs it then there really isn't much point going 64-bit.

    Most likey I wont.. depending on how well it performs now when I get this up and running if its using up 80 - 90% of memory on games which ive read it has for some games on vista.. ill get more! I just want to find out is it upgradeable!

    many versions of Linux use most of your memory too because like VISTA they use the memory, for background stuff like disk caching. The real question is why does XP NOT use idle memory and go for the disk instead. If you have 1GB of RAM and XP try turning off the swap file it may run faster because it isn't busy freeing up memory !

    Windows Vista 32bit supports up to 4GB of memory!

    Just found this out! But it doesnt recognise the full 4GB! Weird
