    hi all.
i recently bought myslef a 00 1.4 golf, silver, two years NCT, 5 dr, silver, spoiler, eyebrows, front fog spot lights. shes really gorgeous but im thinking will i ruin it by doing some of the following.

    1. i want to change the back lights anyhow. they are the standard red and orange horrible colour. was wondering would clear (like front) or smoked black be better on silver. on the bumper there is the black rubber ridge and i think that would tie in nicely with smoked lenses.

    2. as she is she looks quite understated, sporty, and i love it. especially with the spot lights. but as golfs, and more especially mk4 golfs are as common as dirt i dont want to blend it in further by throwing alloys on it. also i dont want to make it seem like i think im driving a GTTDI or something by doing up the exterior when im still only running on a 1.4 petrol engine. (that said top speed so far is 113mph, conditions permitting)
it has standard volkswagon hubcaps and they look okay, but would i look a twat doing lights and then be riding around with hubcaps?

3 and also my biggest vice. from any fellow silver car owners. in the sunlight or certain lighting conditions the shine almost shows up scuff marks. the car would be spotless but it just looks like somebody happened to pass with a brillo pad. im going to put a resin polish from auto glym on it tonight to try and compact it but does anybody else have any tips on preventing this look on silver cars?

    thanks guys.

Don't put clear lenses, the smoked oem ones look good or some decent euro oem lenses. How will putting alloys on it blend it in? Surely ity will make it look better? Go with oem wheels like a montreal or some RS4 replics maybe.

i'd like something like 17 inch Fox RS5s, thats a bit safe though. found great website http://www.autoalloys.com they have huge range of wheels and take photos of all customer cars so you can technically go see a mk4 with the wheels you would like on it. great site. not to many prices tho. think they up north.
