    Ok Ive done this calculation
    2006 Integra type r

are these costs right so far. They exclude the vrt

    FOB 15,590
    +
    Shipping + Handling 850
    =
    Total 16,440
    +
    Duty 10% 1,644

    Total 18,084

    VAT 21% 21,884.00
    +
    Clearing agent 80.00
    =
    Total 22,100.00 - Maximum
    +
    VRT 9000
    =
    Total Maximum 32000 inc everything.

this is to show you how it works. Here its worth minimum 35-38k

I know you want to get 2001 so just do some research and see what car you want and price it up with those headings.Ive just looked at other sites to get info on pricing a car for import.I havent imported a car before

Remember the VRT is calculated on what the VRO value the car to be worth here, not on what it cost you to land it off the ship from Japan.

    €9k ok.

    I was guessing that a 2006 Integra has a market value of around €35k here. VRT @30% (Integra TR DC5 is 2.0) = 10,500.

Revenue put market value around 31-32k.:D But its defo worth more 07 is up on carzone for 44k and 05 for around 38.Im going by carzone prices. It looks attractive to bring a integra in drive it and sell it

Carzone prices are generally over optimystic.

I think if you bring in an ITR DC5 and drive it you probably won't want to sell it.

A 01 typeR you'll be looking for arround 13000-14000 CIF from Japan, which still makes it good value and it hasn't been driving in Ireland yet by some lunatic to show off.

Yes i would, get one and then sell it make some profit and buy another one to keep :)
This will cover both senario's, making money and having a nice car

Try Tradecarview website, it has over 30,000 cars for sale and is the japanese equivalent of carzone. Type in the car name you want and a list should appear with pictures. The prices are given in euros but you can send an email to the dealer to get more information about the car as only a few pictures are available.
