    The question is, if the primate still had it in his power to command that all shopping centres be closed on a sunday, and all sports fixtures were rescheduled to saturdays, would the people then go back to massgoing..... or would they simply stay in bed?

    They love skyscrapers in Dubai, but Muslims there are discovering they have some disadvantages. During Ramadan they're supposed to fast from sunrise to sunset; when you're high up in the building, sunrise comes earlier and sunset comes later - so you are fasting for longer.

    How much longer? If you're 500m up near the top of Burj Khalifa, my quick calculations tell me that the day can be up to 5 mins 44 seconds longer, depending on the time of year. And don't start eating early, or else ... :cool:
