Priest; "Christmas is a time for miracles, so maybe the baby might turn up again".

But then; "It was reportedly was found this afternoon by a passerby at the People's Park, about 1km from where it was taken. It is understood to have been badly damaged".

Ah well, it's still a miracle that it wasn't killed. That's the great thing about miracles. You can't go wrong with them.

They had a programme on TV last night about the Nostradumus bunkum and similar stuff and it included some American "professors", i.e. real people who looked like they had real brains, talking about the "rapture" and clearly accepting that it is a real possibility.:rolleyes:

This song was meant to air on the Jonathan Ross Show tomorrow night (23rd December 2011), but at the last minute ITV cut it.

    http://thedailyedge.thejournal.ie/the-vaticans-baby-jesus-is-rather-big-311630-Dec2011/?utm_source=facebook
IN A WEEK where an Waterford parish had to appeal for the return of a stolen Baby Jesus statue – and there was a spate of robberies of Baby Jesus figurines in the US, it is interesting to note that the Vatican is taking no chances with its Baby Jesus representation.
There is no way anyone is going to lift this statue out of St Peter’s Square without anyone noticing. (To understand exactly how big this Baby Jesus is, note that Pope Benedict XVI is the tiny figure at the open window in the background delivering his Angelus prayer):

The blogpost underneath Minchin is really interesting
This song was meant to air on the Jonathan Ross Show tomorrow night (23rd December 2011), but at the last minute ITV cut it. Here's my whiney blog about it (originally published at www.timminchin.com):
    ....
It's 2011. The appropriate reaction to people who think Jesus is a supernatural being is mild embarrassment, sighing tolerance and patient education.

Probably not suitable for the funny thread though.

Toaster Sears Image Of Jesus On Bread
From telephone poles to a cheesy snack, people have claimed to see the image of Jesus Christ in all sorts of unconventional places.

Some have drawn divine inspiration from what they believe is the face of the Son of God on their morning toast. A miracle? Perhaps. Or maybe it’s just toast.

This holiday season, Galen Dively, a Vermont entrepreneur, is capitalizing on the hunger for Jesus crust, CNN's religious blog reported.

For $31.95, you don’t have to wait for a miracle to see Jesus on your daily bread. Look no further than the Jesus Toaster.

Available through Burnt Impressions, the toaster contains a specially designed metal plate that leaves an image of Jesus -- with halo and rays of light -- on every slice, ABC News reported.

Dively, 46, the company’s founder and head, said he had pulled two all-nighters over the past three days, and had enlisted friends and family, to keep up with orders.

“We were getting two or three thousand orders a day for a couple days there,” he told ABC.

Many customers have bought Jesus Toasters as gifts for their “priests or preachers,” Dively said.

He told ABC he's rarely been denounced as a blasphemer or idolater.

“No death threats or mean letters,” he said.

Dively’s company also offers toasters that imprint images of the Virgin Mary, peace signs and pot leaves, among other things.

Didn't see this posted. It's a Tim Minchin song that was cut from (I think) this weeks Jonathan Ross show.

Edit, actually, it was posted twice already here and I posted it on the wrong website. Stupid internet browsers and their multiple tabs!!!!

Ignoring the fact that you can't get any sense of scale from that perspective, why point out the figure as a reference to scale, as if it couldn't be immediately be inferred from the window or building itself?
