You're going to have to explain this. Obviously it has something to do with General Relativity but I'm not grasping why the earth would appear to be flattened...

I got a good chuckle out of this one. It's from mediacurves, a company which researches public perception of topical issues.

In this particular article the try to gauge how believable a tv ad is. The beleivability is plotted over time, as the ad progresses. The end is priceless :)

    EDIT: found it on YouTube:

I like how at the very very end, after the word scientology fades and the guy stops talking the bar starts going back up...

Did I read on here that the appnedix actually was quite useful, repopulates good intestinal flora or something along those lines...?
I don't like dara O' Brien but the pseudo science clip was very good!

The appendix has had lots of things postulated about it, most of them very vague (neuro-endocrine functions, immunological etc). Some people say it has a function in the fetus, some say it continues. What no-one has conclusively proved is whether or not having one gives you any long term benefits, but it has conclusively been proved that having it out doesn't give you any long term deficiencies.

Love Dara Ó Briain, saw him twice this year. He is so much funnier than most people who call themselves comedians these days.

Agreed. He's the best comedian I've ever seen. His bantering with the audience is brilliant.

Catholic doctrine to the mentally challenged

    87766.jpg

There's a link to the content of the disc (.mp3) on that site.

So even the mentally challenged are fair game for the church...!

[This is the point at which I would make a joke concerning the mental capacity of every religious individual and the appropriateness of this disc for all believers were I a childish and immature person, thankfully I'm not one of those people.]
