I'm paraphrasing slightly I'm afraid, as some of the idioms just don't have an analogue in today's language.

    Wait - I think I have it

'Thou who proclaimeth ye lyberal notions do so only befause thy self be not perfonally affected so thou doth not give ye flyying fulk. Yea, when thou art affected thou art steadfast in thy conservatism and defirious of things remaining af ye thyngs hath alwafs being.'

Can someone translate this into English?

Allow me. This goes for anything posted by that poster.

Not sure whether to post J C's bullScheisse here
The answer to that, is no. You shouldn't post a post made by someone else in another forum without at least informing them. And that we don't need.

Atheists do have their uses though.

(I can't believe this is serious)

I think it's the most brilliant piece of marketing, ever! Laughed so much when I heard about that (before the "rapture") - there's no word of a lie involved. These non-believers/atheists are saying "We think you are mental to believe in the rapture, but in the event of us being completely wrong, we'll do our best to mind your pets. And you have to make a down payment on their care." GENIUS. :D

I'd draw your attention to reasons 2 & 3 in particular.

Not quite religion, but quite often on boards I see a thread title like The Powers of Darkness and get very intrigued

Do you ever wander in to these and think to yourself - "What the f*ck is wrong with some people?" - or is it just me?!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31,967 ✭✭✭✭Sarky

Rarely. Those folks generally don't bring whatever it is they believe in to discussions about topics in the real world, so the can go ahead and believe whatever the hell they like. Christianity tends to be more aggravating and pushy and political, so I check up on those topics more often. Also because frankly some Christians are freakishly scary.

    It's just you. You're entering a duality.

Regarding the nativity set, I had to laugh at one my sister recently bought. A manger complete with all the characters and animals plus it's very own stained glass window!
