I'm still giggling about the fact that there was a Pope Anus.

I know a bloke called Aeneas. I haven't seen him in over thirty years but I still have reason to ponder what the hell his parents were thinking. I know his dad was a teacher (of latin) but a classical education is no excuse for doing that to a child.

I wrote another semi-religious funny. Given the recent conclave and all, a retrospective on some of the frankly astounding popes the church has had through the centuries seemed appropriate.

    Linky!

That's the last shameless self-advertising I'll do here, honest.
And back to sad pope. Is being God's Voice on Earth so bad?

Let's not forget all the top brass in the Vatican. If the 'creator of the Universe' talked to me, and I knew he existed, and there was definitely a heaven waiting for me, I'd like to think I could manage a smile. I might even laugh.

But no. They all look as though they realise that they wasted their whole lives, denying themselves all the fruits of this world, including bewbs. Frankly, they have a right to have cranky expressions.

Reminds me of a song; "You can't hide, you're lying eyes."

I actually had to switch off that "debate" halfway through. Maddening stuff.

To be fair, I could tolerate her longer than I could Waters' sophist diatribes.
    She's not that bad.:pac:

Seen it before (regrettably). The best argument he could come up with was- don't be mean to me Richard. Don't hurt my fwweeelings.
And then he went off on an anecdote and Dawkins face is priceless. He would probably have topped himself if he had a gun close by.

Had a door step discussion with a JW that went a long similar lines. I think he thought that we think that these random blind eyeless monkeys just appeared one day fully formed out of a pond of ooze and started having baby humans... and then the humans needed eyes so they grew on all the other animals too.
I'm really amazed at how much trouble they have with the concepts involved.

That was the most infuriating debate. He has so much more patience than I do.

Every day I regret that the Snape 'hit them with a large book' pedagogy is now frowned upon. Tis PC gone mad I tells you.
