^ hate to be pedantic* but most objects in the night sky observable with the naked eye aren't millions of light years away.

The Dublin Airport cap is damaging the economy of Ireland as a whole, and must be scrapped forthwith.

^ Also being pedantic. I second the above.

They're not dead though given that most stars have lifetimes in the billions of years.

Well, the science and technology committee of Lords has amongst others, a zoologist, electrical engineer, chemist and an obstetrician. That's a start?

Oh, and two fellows called Martin Rees and Robert Winston. Not sure who they are though, sound a bit dodge.

Even if there was no shortage, they'd probably have used it for toilet paper anyway or perhaps to start a fire.

Most people I've seen have been taking the "look at this eejit of an interviewer" angle but there is a considerable amount who are seriously shocked that a) atheists exist in Oklahoma and b) the angry angry atheist didn't punch him in the face and denounce religion while sacrificing her child to Satan.

Nice chubby kid -- could keep an atheist family in burgers for a fortnight!

And probably also c) that she basically said "Thank the lord if you want, I don't care" rather than make some big song and dance about it.

A CLERIC who accidentally showed gay porn to parents of schoolchildren in the North has been appointed parish priest of Clogherhead.

    More in here.

Wait a second; are you telling me that this is not a joke?

I'll be honest, I don't have a big issue with this.

So what if he's into gay porn? Its legal and I'd rather he act out something thats legal then abuse kids. Hey, if he's gay and has a relationship with another adult then thats great to, more power to him!

Ok, showing it to people by accident wasn't ideal and really thats the issue. But its no different to accidentally showing any porn to people its not intended to be shown to.

The fact its gay porn should not even be mentioned in my view, it was porn plain and simple and if it was legal then who cares if it was gay, lesbian or straight porn?

Yeah, it's not like he's part of a stridently anti-gay organisation or anything. Because then he'd be a total hypocrite.:p

Purpose of watching porn? To masturbate.
Spilling seed without chance of pro-creation? Sin.
    Priest who sins? Hypocrite.

I'd have no issue with it either, and like you said, if that's the worst thing he does, then really there's zero issue as far as I'm concerned. But in the eyes of the Church, it makes him a priest who is a sinner, regardless of whether it was gay porn or straight porn,

Thou shall not covet, lust, etc. Pretty sure porn is up there as a big no-no for all of the Abrahamic religions.

I really view them both as the same thing:)

I agree with your point though - stick to the consenting adults and i've no problem with whatever he does. His church bosses might, but sure lets face it, their priorities are highly questionable at the best of times.
I mean, it's guaranteed that the vast majority of teachers teaching your kids in primary school, are accessing hardcore porn at some point - doesn't make them a danger to your kids!

From my memories of 5th or 6th class, the students were looking at it as well. Caveat, the male students were anyway.

I believe the evidence for this is inconclusive.

A thorough review of the source material is required.

    I may be some time...

I couldn't care less if he was involved in bestiality, as long as the animal didn't mind, but he belongs to a group of self-righteous hypocrites who pontifically denounces homosexuality on the pulpit. The fact that he lied about it, and lied to the Guards about how his laptop was stolen a couple of days after the porn presentation to the parents, speaks volumes of his character.

Based on what I've been told by former priests on what happens in seminaries and monasteries, downloading porn from the Internet only scratches the surface.
