Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ok, i have a nokia 6230i and i can use it as a bluetooth modem with my apple macbook grand. i use it as a dial up modem connecting to eircoms dial up number. only thing is that the speed is terrible.... im looking for a new phone now and wondering does anybody have a phone that gives half decent speed?? i have seen these phones with EDGE and all these other things but what do i need to look out for?? specifically, i was looking at the samsung d900.

and i dont want to go for these modems or anything from vodafone etc.

and i know i wont get proper broadband speeds but im getting errors opening google.com so anything faster would be better!

    cheers
    moe

Well, you simply aren't going to get much of a speed connecting via dial-up.
You need some sort of data bundle on your account.
For the moment, with a MacBook I'm afraid, the USB modem from Vodafone is best; when the same comes from 3, that will be better (= faster).
The only alternative is to get an HSDPA handset.

Even GPRS will be faster than using dialup on a mobile phone.

I'd recommend the Vodafone USB modem. Vodafone's network will be upgraded to 3.6 Mbps in the coming months, so the speed should match 3.
