Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Big game for England now, after the Bangladesh result today they are right in the frame again for the semi finals.

For some reason I fancy England to win it. Gonna stick a few quid on them at 5/2 with Paddy Power

    Thoughts?

    Updates here tomorrow..

I think Vaughan has to seriously start looking closer to home when making team selections.

He has got 83 runs in 6 innings, an average of just under 14 with a hs of 45. 38 in 5 knocks excluding the hs of 45 v's Canada.

His 6 innings include playing against Ireland (6), Kenya (1) and the 45 against Canada.

    106-2

Eng still going along very nicely but just lost Bell for 77 (cant seem to get the elusive ton) and collingwood as I speak.

    168-4 after 31

Excellent :D, sounds like it could be a good match, just watching end of the F1 quick.

    222 for 5 (44.5 overs)

    Mike.

A fair effort by england thus far. I guess looking at 270ish.

Not sure if it will be enough as there isn't much in the track but if they get into the Aussies early, who knows......

    More like 250-60 tops

    230 for 6 (46.4 overs)

    Mike.

Yeah - had only flicked on the TV and hadn't realised that Pietersen was batting for his ton and his position as # 1 bat in the world.

247 ao in last over. From 230-5 to 247 ao

Thank god he didnt, otherwise we'd have never heard the end of it from the brit media.

Aussie win means Eng must win last 3 games to go through.

Marshy thats the kind of "little irelander" attitude we could do with less of frankly.

    Mike.

No its just the truth. Sure even the bbc commentators were cheering at every putt rose holed. I just cant stand their media. Its like wimbledon with Henman and now murray every year. They build them up until they ultimately and inevitably fail. Except they have nothing to shout about their cricketers at the mo.

P.S sorry for the slightly off topic rant :)

If Harrington had'nt fallen away and the Irish had a commentary team at the Masters they'd have gone balistic! Not to mention 3 days of offical celebrations and messages from the President, Bertie, Enda, Pat, Gerry and Uncle Tom Cobly as of course no Irishman has ever won a Major. We'd not have heard the like since Michelle Smith "won" three golds.

    Mike.

Both Marshy and Mike65 make good points - I can't stand the UK media's approach to sports players - either complete heroes or total villains.

However, we're just as guilty of going overboard when the opportunity arises - the Michelle Smith (known as "propeller-up-her-ar*e-gate) thing is a good case in point.

Yeah, I'll accept that would be the case but that doesn't make it any less frustrating when their media wont stop harping on about how great someone is.

Just to be pedantic, Fred Daly did win the british open.
