Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first

Quiet here today on this holiday monday.

Big day, NZ quite clinical so far.

Will be difficult to get amongst them

Gillespie and K O'Brien in for Mooney and Botha(injured)

Great first over from Langford-Smith a maiden :)

Yup - might be a bit of leather chasing today.

Kiwis have their two spinners on board - obviously seen what Vaughan achieved against us.

PP has Kiwis at 33-1 on. Ireland 9-1.

Kiwi par score on PP in the region of 295

Not a cricket fan (but still want Ireland to do well and all...) but have a quick question - is it a bit odd to bat first if you win the toss? I thought that in general the team who wins the toss fields first so they know what to chase...

Also, just noticed that Ireland are 2000/1 to win the world cup outright on some sites... Worth a euro?:D

the state of the wicket will decide weather you bat or bowl

I'm assuming this is good news for us as we seem to have done pretty well so far, keeping them at bay and if they miss out on the last ten overs when caution is thrown to the wind we should have a lower score to aim for under D-L correct me if I'm wrong.

If we can keep the Kiwis to 220/230 we might have a chance here

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 545 ✭✭✭cgf

Yeah - we need to keep our heads for the final few overs.

Johnston is captaining extremely well today - the key will be McCullum - we get him soon it's definitely game on.

PP has Kiwis into 6-1 on. Ireland 7-2. Par Kiwi score at 235

Last few overs have probably sealed the win for New Zealand

Poor finish there - pity. We had performed fairly well upto the 41st over, pulling it back from a big score.

Hopefully we'll get off to a flyer - Bray is due a few joes.
