    Anybody know how to get your phone number?

    The internet is connected but i don't know the number on the phoneline and Eircom are closed today.

    I think there is some address I type into the internet bar and lots of data comes up.

    Pick up the Phone dial your mobile number, voilla the landline number pops up on mobile :D

    We dont have a physical phone. We only use the line for internet:confused:

    have yoiu got a standard modem, if so go to start > All Programs > Accessories > Communication > Hyper Terminal, Dial Your number in there click dial, same thing as lifting phone and dialing

    Did you attach the dsl filter to the phone socket before you put your modem cable in?

    explain the situation to a neighbour and ask to borrow their phone for a minute if you really want it urgently

    If you have any sort of a dialtone, you can dial 199000. A voice will talk back the number to you. Get a neighbour's phone, anyone's phone, to do this.

    And it's your choice etc. but why would you have a landline without even a basic handset?? It's cheaper to use the landline for calls.

    Buy your own handset in Argos / Tesco etc. Don't get one from eircom.
