Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Meteor Porting Question

A friend was on Meteor. She needed a second phone one day and got a new one from Meteor with a new number and registered the sim and was eligible for the free credit. Now she had two Meteor numbers one for anytime and the other for leisuretime. Last week she ported the anytime number to Vodafone. But the calls are very expensive so she now wants to port back to Meteor onto the leisuretime plan and cancel this number. When she rang Meteor, they told her she couldn't port to the leisuretime number. Is that right?

Why does she want to do this? Why cant she just port onto a new sim and just throw away the leisuretime one if she doesnt want it?

I have heard something about only being allowed port back after a certain the but i could be wrong

Ports are usually only done on new sim cards.

What she could do is get a new sim card on the Meteor network, port the Vodafone number onto it and then request that it be put on the Leisuretime tariff.

If theirs an issue with the number then once she has done the above a msisdn swap can be performed which will switch the above number with the old number that she originally had on the Leisuretime tariff and then cancel the number that she ported in from Vodafone. Very complicated way of doing things though!

reason she wants to port onto existing sim is there's a heap of credit on the card - like 50 aeros

ah i see. i'm pretty sure she's out of luck i'm afraid. maybe ring them again because meteor aren't known for giving the right answer right away

No, it can be done alright.

Tell her to go to a Meteor store and tell them she's porting her Vodafone number in. They will give her a new 085 sim card and will then port her number onto it.

This will mean that she has two accounts on the Meteor network. One that she's just created(with the number she wants) and the other on the Leisuretime tariff(with the credit she wants).

Once both numbers are on the Meteor network she can call Customer Care on 1905, advise them that she wants to perform a msisdn swap. She should then read out the mobile number of the account with the credit. They will then ask her for her new number, she gives them the number(that she ported from Vodafone) this number should now be on the account with the credit that she wants.

Thanks for the advice. Before she goes in can you explain what msisdn means so she's not a real tool box on the phone to customer service
