2 fair bits of constructive critisicism made to be fair.

Announcer was awful, tried to make terrible jokes between hands aswell, not quite as bad as the scottish twat that does the ept.

The complete non randomness of the feature table was a joke.

Other than that it seemed like a fantastic festival, wish I hadnt missed most of it. The structures were advertised, if you dont like it you didnt have to play. Also delighted to see so many chinese poker fish floating around. honourable mentions to Masters and Nicky OD.

And people thought self exclusion tools only existed in casinos. Karl won't be able to take your call for a few days. Please leave your name and number and he will get back to you. Thank you. Maybe his (probable) wish that this thread dies will happen by the time he gets back.

FU! You wanted to settle after like 3 hands just so you would finish up for the night!

That was fairly sick alright, in fairness my win rate was similar all night, your 15 pont 2 hand downswing was on the back of Lyonzy and Halfbaked getting out of it.

Perhaps a new slogan for PP?

I'm amazed by your responses to valid constructive criticism of the event.

I think we should let this lie as Karl isn't around for a while. Probably best left until next December or whenever they are posting details for next years run of it.

lol, wasn't exactly how I thought this thread would turn out, I just thought it would be great to see what kind of preparation went into the event and maybe hear a funny yarn or two........Maybe we can get Karl in the well next December and have a go then when preparations are being made for 2008 :)

I was fairly ill for the whole of the PP poker festival and beyond and I'm sure I picked up the bug from the Ballogan branch of Paddy Powers. The girl behind the counter sneezed all over my betting slip, and even though the no.2 dog at Monmore won by a doggie neck, (thanks to some expert shoving on the 1st bend) , I still had the bug infested docket in my hand for 10 minutes and so fell ill soon after. Totally irresponsible of Paddy Powers. I now only bet with a face mask on, although I caused a bit of a commotion when I went up to the counter to back my national horse last Saturday Karl sort this staff health mess out.

At least she did it with a smile. At ladbrokes they would make you feel your putting them out just by placing the bet. And Monmore! wtf!. This tells me your one of these 'i'll bet whatever the next race is' merchants:p

The dog was a lovely speckled colour and he yapped enthusiastically as though proud to be in his blue vest. The favourite
the rather ditzy looking 3 dog stopped for a wee poop so I thought his bowel might be dodgy. (and right I was as he was quite easily knocked sideways by bluey)

I'm not an expert horsey bookie pundit (and proud of it) and if I'm visiting the ol bookies it's for footie/golf bets. I do throw the odd Euro into the next available race, (great read there you should play poker) usually a cartoon race won by a horse or dog expertly drawn by some fine animator. I do get sneers from the punters who scour the sportinglife for the form and then proceed to lose their blxs on the next sure thing....I got a 66 to 1 shot one day at Lukin Downs cartoon races he came with a wet sail and I was sure dastardly or muttley would trip him up before the finish but nope I won a fair few bob...
The punters looked on like guppy fish as I collected.. My next visit to the bookies will be for my FA CUP final bet...any idea what doggies meeting is on that day.

I do hope Carfax meant this thread to take this direction.

I once had 2 euro on a 25/1 winner on the virtual horses, I figured it was all rigged anyway so no point backing the favourite.

Looks like this thread has been nicely derailed, see you all in the next one!
