morning all... myself and a few lads from the poker forum play for a UCFL team in league 3a. Our season will be over in the coming weeks, and we will be looking for a game of ball at some point. Would Boardaux be interested in an 11-a-side friendly, can play on grass at our pitch in bushy park in terenure, or on astro where you lads play.

just an idea... let me know if theres any interest.

There's defnitely interest, we need as many games as we can get to get lads out and playing together.

We'd be looking at a weekend day, Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Would prefer to play on an Astro pitch.

    Let's do this.

we have a handful of matches left in our league. (game this sat mon wed) but should be near enough to finished within a week or two. I'm not at our match this sat but will talk to the lads on monday night and see when suits. i know 3-rock has the two astro picthes with footy nets. Also St.Kilians school in clonskeagh could work and our manager is a sports teacher there so we might be able to get in there cheaply.

we play our matches on a saturday mainly but our season should be over within a month so would still be early enough in your season.

alright lads, we have no game until wednesday the 9th so we're free for a game (and looking for a game) this saturday. I think our pitch is being used by the team we share with but not 100% sure. Also, we have the strange situation where 9 of our swuad have work in town at 5pm due to the bank holiday weekend.

So is there any interest in say an 11am, or midday kick off game? Where, what pitch? do we get a ref or just ref it amongst ourselves? how much will it cost to rent a pitch? etc etc etc.

can you get a squad together for saturday?

    What say you lads?

I'd be up for it anyway, for definite.

ditpoker, I'll ask them all at our match this evening.

just seen there that you play 60 min games... if we do 3 x 30mins "halves" it'd allow us get a decent game for most of both our squads.

I say 2x 45 minute halves, we can certainly do with improving our fitness. No need for a ref as it's a friendly :D

I'm up for training or a friendly. Dunno if we could even get 11 out on a Saturday because of the lack of people turning up for training. Sure we will see tonight I guess.

congrats on the win lads... any word back from the team about this saturday!?

re: ref. Our manager told me today he had great intentions of dropping me at the weekend so i can ref it (at least for a half)... he's such a nice guy like that! :(

Ok lads, whos up for this???
We need a pitch and players...

Not sure about a pitch- we could play grass and get one easy enough but tbh I'd prefer astro.

I'll be there for a game anyway. (1)
    + Darragh (BlackWizard) -2
    + Colm (LoBo) -3

    who else...?

I strained my thigh after being hit in the groin with the ball last night. Tried to run it off but I might of made it worse

I will be there on Saturday. If my thigh is still sore I'll play in goal or waterboy :)

UCD have a great 11 a side astro turf pitch for football. Railway union Hockey club also has a good one, three rock hockey club. (all with full size goals). Plenty of football pitches in Phoenix park, up beside that new place we were training on on saturday.

would you's be up for playing it on grass in Bushy Park, we'll stick nets and corner flags and all up. i'll get onto the council to see if the pitch is free.

    I don't mind at all.

Can we play Astro League Rules - no sliding tackles mainly - no offside aswell.

Rolling Subs if we have any.

If I'm not going home to Dundalk on Fri for the weekend I'll be there. John has a league match on Sunday so won't be there.

Lads, I can't play this one cos of the shins - they probably need long-term rest, but playing once a week I can just about manage, twice is not a runner.

hi guys... our pitch is in use by teams from other leagues. can you guys sort an astro for say 11am til 12.30, (or effectively 11-1). i'll be back on boards in an hour or so and will check here. Ideally columbas or 3 rock aas ive played there before! :p i'll ref the match if needed. do u have a full squad? if u are short one or 2 you could poach myself, bohsman, carfax or aodea, all boardsters so technically eligiable! :p

I don't think we have enough interest tbh, and I have no clue how to go about booking either of them places - anyone?

If the friendly isn't on I presume we're going ahead with training in Phoenix Park?
