Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

@johnny_ultimate What's that Gundam DS game?

It's a pretty much unplayable copy of Bangai-O Spirits. A lesson in how not every Treasure game is playable in Japanese :/

Is that the one with the worlds most confusing menu system, so confucing that even in Engrish it'd be unusable?

    Indeed.

I was loving the tutorial, and then the weapon selection menu popped up.

    "Bollocks" was the only word.

    Nice to have though.

Ah, have no money for more games, all cash paying for loans, mortgage, food, petrol!
Going into game shops now a painful window shopping exercise!
Ebay now off limits completely too.
And even reading Edge has lost its lustre, like reading Top Gear Magazine when you own a Scenic, like me!
    What am I to do?
Use the downturn as an opportunity to play through the games in my collection?
Mourn over the current gen titles I can't afford?
Pretend I have bought them and read Gamefaqs as a bluffers guide, while secretly weeping at my lack of Portal 2?

Start digging through the collection and get started on those games you never got around to. You could even post them to yourself and pretend they're new eBay purchases :P

Ah here if you're going to go that retro, why not go the whole 9 yards and get in to 'Play By Mail' gaming?

    http://www.gamesystems.com

As Mark Schweitzer from Frederick, MD says on that site:

"I can't wait until my next turn arrives!"

...and you'll be adding to job security at An Post just by playing, winnage all round! :D

Play by mail, remember the old speccy mags, one in particular that specialised in programs for you to type in yourself, had ads for strategy games that you played by mail, oh dear...

No, I think I'll finish the catalogue of 360 games, assuming it comes back fixed, and even if it doesn't I have a massive collection of great games on the PS2, Xbox, Snes, Nes, CDi, oh wait, that didn't have any great games, did it? ;)

The pitfalls of real life my friend!
I too am in a similar situation all my bills / rent / insurance and assorted crap has to be paid this week and next seriously denting my gaming budget, thats why I've hidden €90 from the boss so I can still get my fix of gaming goodness.:D

Once my girlfriend came home while I had 150+ Megadrive games on the floor in a row, about to take photos.

You know that look someone gives you when they genuinely think you've lost the plot?

Yeah, I think the good woman gave me that look about 0.00000001 microseconds after I proposed to her.

    retrosetup.jpg

This is just what I have set up, at the moment. I have various other bits that I don't quite have the room to display just yet (2 fat PS2's, one with a HDD attached. Fat PS1. Atari 2600. etc.)

Most games are all packed away awaiting some shelving above where this set up is so, they won't be coming out for a little while.

Sounds like the 3DS part II. With each passing day I think the 3DS is looking more and more like a flop.

I recently got to try one out properly (last time was in HMV on Grafton Street at launch) and after spending a good deal of time fiddling with it, I still didn't like it.

It just doesn't seem like enough of an update and the 3D effect isn't that impressive, in fact I found it bordering between good to downright irritating. I think Nintendo needs to cut it's DS apron strings and release a bold, all-new handheld design and soon. The Vita might just steal Nintendo's thunder if the 3DS ends up a failure.

I'd settle for some games for it, the 3DS is starting to feel like the handheld that time forgot.
