Hopefully a second home win in a row before we hit the road again next weekend. Monagahan were the first team to avoid defeat to Dundalk this season last weekend, but they still haven't got a win yet.

Last week was a bit of a damp squid, but there are some cracking games ahead.

The big Dublin derby and the City vs Rovers match stand out.

    Premier Div., 13 April 2007
Cork City 7:45 Shamrock Rovers Turner's Cross - Home
Drogheda United 7:45 Sligo Rovers United Park - Draw
Galway United 7:45 Longford Town Terryland Park - Home
St Patrick's Athletic 7:45 Bohemians Richmond Park - Home
Waterford United 7:45 Derry City RSC - Away

I think Galway will finally get a win at home.

Cork City vs Rovers is always one of the games I look out for every season. Big crowd, cracking atmosphere and always a bit of incident.

Pats vs Bohs is an early test for the teams that want to break into the top tier of the Premier division. Bohs have got results lately without backing up with the performance, and with Pats in goalscoring form I think they will win.

Down in Waterford it could get even worse for Derry, and I think an impressive Sligo team can get a result in Drogheda.

Bohs fans please note the FAI are in charge of security and they really think your a crazed bloodthirtsy bunch of nazi hooligans. Shed is closed and Bohs have one end of the ground (oh some pats fans went mental on hearing that).

We should go 451/433 with Frost back, still missing our RB and RWB so umm well we dont have any others so a CB will play RB

    Ryan
    Maguire Foley Paisley Frost
    Quigley Fahey Mulcahy Ndo Kirby
    O Neill

Puts us woefully off balance and means its gonna get filthy in the middle ,having Mulcahy on our team instantly means we win everything. Ndo due a good game and it we get him on the ball vs Hunt be a decent contest.

Cant see Bohs playing badly and beating us so they gonna have to play and its Dublin Derby so tbh i have no idea what score it will be.

Big weekend really. Alot will be decided. City should continue the impressive run and beat Shams. Derry away to Waterford will be interesting, but they should pick up the win against a very poor Waterford. Galway shopuld beat an awful Longford team, but this game has the potential to be the most boring game in Premier history. I fancy Sligo to get a point at Drogheda.

SPA Vs Bohs cant be called really. SPA should win it as they are playing well, but as mentioned already Bohs are getting results without playing well. I's say a score draw, 2-2 maybe.

Not too confident going into this TBH, as Pat's have steamroller momentum, a seriously quality midfield, and a striker we shouldn't have let go (it was Stephen Kenny did that, incidentally) who loves scoring against us.
Still, they haven't had the strongest of opposition yet, so Alan Kirby might be right when he says it'll be awkward. Will be good to see Singh at last, if he gets a game.

Eircom League of Ireland Premier Division

Cork City 0 Shamrock Rovers 0
Drogheda United 3 Sligo Rovers 0
Galway United 1 Longford Town 1
    St. Patrick's Athletic 0 Bohemians 0
Waterford United 0 Derry City 1

Eircom League of Ireland 1st Division

    Kilkenny City 0 Limerick 37 0
Finn Harps 1 Wexford Youth 2
    Shelbourne 1 Monaghan Uinted 1

1st half was abolsutely rotten at Tolka Park. I know Shelbourne have a new squad thrown together but there still is no excuse for that horror show of lazy football from us in the first 45. Keely obviously gave them a bollocking at half time. Shels dominated the second half played good football, got a good goal from James Chambers but just couldn't find that winner. The 1st half performance cost us 2 points against a very poor Monaghan side.

[RANT]Hats off to Monaghan for taking the piss tonight with their dirty feigning time wasting gamesmanship tonight, it was like 11 South Americans playing for them. The best was Darren Meenan who got sent off, didn't leave the field and joined in a wall for a free-kick without the ref realising. It took a roaring crowd to get the ref to cop on that he was still on the pitch, in the wall and still Meenan tries to walk back to the half-way line instead of going down the tunnel on opposite end  And the 30 seconds of added time from the ref when there was meant to be 2 minutes and that is after Mons goalkeeper dying on the floor for 4 minutes after being hit by a breeze of air  Officiating is ****ing joke in this league[/RANT]

Bohs brought the bus parked it then played for a draw, Connor got it spot on with a flat back 6 and our midfield never got into the game only when Mulcahy went into the middle did we start to force the game but Bohs have a very good team and tbh only way we were going to score from a set piece and only way they would have scored was on the break.

Ndo and Paisley were shocking, Ndo subbed at half time and without Murphy we have no right side so everything went down the left, with the packed midfields it forced the ball into the air and i think Maguire won every single header he went up for.

Bohs had one shot on goal that forced a save think we had 2 shots only one looked threatening. Bohs are going to get better and better and unless we get murphy back we wont break down good teams.

Re the crowd arrangments they were ****ing retarded and when both sets of schooligans realised that they could throw **** at each other at the tv gantry (programmes and breadrolls wtf?) police did nothing and only one fan was chucked out. Bohs fans in the stand were excellent and i reckon there was 4500 at the game over 1500 Bohs fans.

Minutes applause was excellent and so was the Bohs banner.

I beg to differ, as do the match reports. We played with three strikers, and you were steeped not to concede at least one. Your man of the match was your keeper, who worked miracles to keep us out towards the end. We turned your defenders for fun, peppered your goals, hit the post, had a clear penalty for blatant handball shockingly denied, and bossed the game.

Your vaunted midfield trinity was mediocre and gave a master class in spreading the ball into the stands. They also, incidentally, were filthy, and you only finished the game with a full 11 because the ref bottled it time after time.

Sligo move the ball better than you do. I suppose your frustration at finally being given a game and found wanting is understandable.

I don't think we are going to win the league this year, but neither are you.

Peppered the goal with crosses that maguire won? You had one shot on target that Ryan saved easily, we had 2 and one of them your keeper dropped it. OOur holy trinity was snuffed out by your 5 man midfield, do you believe you tried to win the game or were terrified and packed the midfield? It worked we created nothing tru the middle and when that happens you go wide but we have only 2 wide players and one is injured.

We had one side playing and a midfielder playing RWB, dunno what game you and other bohs fans on foot.ie were at. But highlights be up soon reckon it be a very short one this week.

lol im not frustrated any other season we would have conceded a sloppy late goal at no point did i think you or us were gonna score So take that as a plus that we kept the big club scoreless and still top of the league, at least when we go to dalymount you will have to attack and try break us down.

An absolutely appalling performance by City last night, but then Rovers brought absolutely nothing and played a very odd formation 9-0-1. Seriously, they didnt even try to do anything. No excuses though, City should be beating teams like Rovers every time.

Special mention goes to Mr McKeown. He booked Joe Gamble because Gamble kick the corner flag in frustration after slicing a cross wide. Unreal.

On the up side, great athmosphere, and Rover brought a great, trouble free, crowd with them. Good to have them back (I feel dirty now :( ).

No, from what you've described McKeown was totally correct to book him for ungentlemanly conduct.

You should buy the Mirror: 'Barry Ryan was the St Pat’s hero last night. Called upon on three separate occasions in the closing minutes - goalkeeper Ryan produced three wonderful saves to preserve St Pat’s unbeaten start to the season.

In a superb performance, the goalkeeper left the best until last - producing two great saves from Glen Crowe within a minute prior to another fantastic stop from Crowe’s strike partner, Neale Fenn.

Stokes put in a superb performance for you also, as expected.

Where you not at the game? Crowes shot was straight at him, fenns was going wide and dunno what the 3rd one was.

He booked mulcahy when hunt dived early in 1st half in front of the camac, didnt send off hunt when mulcahy beat 3 players and was taken out on edge of box late in the 2nd half.

What match where you at seriously?

He was showing frustration. It wasn't ungentlemanly conduct. It was a reaction from a player with high standards who made a mistake.

The fact that Bohs "finished the game with three strikers" doesn't necessarily mean that we were going all out for the win. Crowe, although a striker, was essentially playing on the left wing, Mansaram's job seemed mainly to hold the ball up, and all of them had as one of their main duties the job of keeping Pat's pinned back, rather than actually trying to score goals. All that said, I think we had some great spells of possession, used the ball well, and we look absolutely excellent in terms of organisation and work-rate. Hopefully the goals will come.
