Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Get an iPhone

Why? As has been discussed elsewhere, the iPhone is a technically inferior device in most aspects.

iphone doesnt even support 3g and lets be honest the LG Prada phone did the whole touch screen well before the iphone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,213 ✭✭✭culabula

US upcoming version of the iPhone does not support 3G but it will by the time it gets here.

Look for example at the LG shine, just updated to HSDPA yesterday.

I am confident of great things from the iPhone.

keep this an N95 thread... sure, iphone will get 3G.. it will be hacked and modded by users to offer smartphone like functionality (probably) etc, there will be revisions up the swaney as with the ipod... but there will be a million dedicated iphone threads soon...
^^^^ steve jobs himself I'm sure will start one.

Bought it in enniskillen carphone warehouse. Took it back today and they swapped it for a new one straight away no hassle.

Is the GPS any quicker - mine seems to take ages too - i havent fully installed the map as i dont have a memory card yet (will have tomorrow) - maybe this could be a reason?

My slider is weak too on the right hand side...

Is the new one any better?

    Thanks.

What site do you download it from.?

Can one of you N95 guys try the http://www.nav4all.com/ (from the k800i gps thread) and see if that can use the built-in GPS? I'd imagine that using the navteq maps would be more up to date.

It's automatic -the first time you use it, the download procedure is just a question of following the instructions.

lads, is the n95 sdhc compatible (cards upto 32gbs). or is it limited to ordinary micro-sd cards (up to 2gbs).

play.com would seem to be the best place to get them. Only 18GBP at the moment (any I've bid on eBay for were dearer).

Just got my N95 today, very sweet, have just set it up with all my settings, does anyone know how to config IM for the three network as it won't allow you to download the MS IM if you have selected the N95 on their site, so I'm presuming it's not compatable...

New phone still has weak slider. Went through all they had in the shop. All the same.

Play.com wont deliver memory cards to republic for anyone whos interested. Best bet is 7dayshop.com. Thats where I got mine. Good quick service

True but i will act as a 'go-between' for anyone who needs to use my address -I am in Dublin 2 or 3 times a week.

I bought an N95 on Saturday (last one in Dublin - or so they told me)
I stretched myself a bit money wise so am going to try return it - just switched it on once - no phone calls made - 100% perfect condition.

If someone would prefer to buy it from me PM me - I will sell it for the exact price I paid 759 euro - I live in city centre so you can collect from city or if you're close I can deliver. I will provide all receipts etc.. for warranty purposes.
Am going to return it tomorrow so PM me fast if interested.

I'm trying now: so far confusing nightmare to sign up for and now an unbelievably slow and tedious install. Very, very buggy.

Now I seem to have the voice of a porn star or one of these British sex lines on board. The app has started searching a bluetooth GPS sensor, so it isn't looking good.

FYI - I was just in the 3G store in stephens green and they have the N95 sim free for €759. Not cheap I know but you can ask to see the phone and they'll take one out of the box for you, just incase anybody want to see it before they buy online.

Also in their magazine they list the phone as sim free and available on 3, so it seems 3 will be getting it.

Did it show any prices for those?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 825 ✭✭✭dave oc

Nope, it didnt have any 3 price for it. It was only sim free.

Got to hold it and it is very light(for all the features it packs in). I want it more now!!! Come on 3 and get the finger out!;)

They have confirmed to me that they are getting it, hopefully by the beginning of June.

The 6680 and N70 are end of life in 2 weeks so they will need something to replace.

    So hang in there!

Who confirmed? Three themselves or 3G store member ?

I actually got a cold call from three today as I have my wife using 3 and when I asked about the N95 was told at least 8 months away

As I have posted, possibly in another thread, I saw it with my own eyes last week, in the hands of an area manager. He told me around six weeks. Latest is that it should be by the beginning of June at the latest.

And no, I have no price information.
