    Usenet is still a type of P2P http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peer2peer, although P2P is normally used for things like Morpheus, Bittorrent etc in my books :)

    None the less P2P is alot more efficient for transferring large files then any FTP or downloading files via standard http ever will be.

    FTP Sites will always be better then usenet.
