nTune overclocking problem with 8800GTS...

Just got a BFG 8800GTS 640. When I go and set the fan speed and overclock through nTune they seem to work fine... until I restart the PC. It just reverts back to original settings and I have to reset them again...

Is there something I should be doing after I have changed the settings in nTune? How do I solve this problem??

By the way just to add.. not too happy with this card. I dunno maybe my expectations were too high. The thing can't even handle max settings at only 1280x1024 in STALKER... Always viewed this card as a powerful beast! Not any more....

it should be able to handle max settings on that easy. as the engine is a few years old now. try sorting new graphics drivers.

Well I have the latest 97.94 drivers. Might try 97.92?

It's odd cause my 3dmark06 gfx scores seem normal... 4234/4257

I'm just hoping it's the buggy game, but it's still concerning...

Yeah I have waited close to 3yrs for this game and unfortunately I agree with you:(

Anyway can anyone tell me how the hell I can make ntune lock my overclock settings? Okay I mean it's no big deal just setting them again everytime I restart but I just have a feeling that constantly resetting the cards fan speed may not be to good for a card...

Why not. its the driver is hacking, not the card.

You have to save your settings in a profile and load it at startup.

use rivatuner ok read a few guides for the setting up the fan and then the clocks.

No I don't like rivatuner. I remember it causing problems before.

Ah I'll just activate coolbits and use that.

na i find rivatuner brillent i got 4 fan settings so if my card goes over 60c (wich it never does) the fan will go 80% etc..

but you go play with ur coolbits :(
