Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
Ive downloaded firefox on a computer in university, but I cant save any settings so for example, every time I log on Ive to type in the proxy server settings and I cant save any book marks.

Does anybody know if theres a file somewhere I can open in notepad, edit it and save it, so next time firefox starts the proxy settings are saved?

Before you sign out, if you copy the folder C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles and recreate it before you sign in in future, you should be able to save all your settings including bookmarks, form data, etc.

The Application Data folder is hidden, so you might have to set the computer to view hidden files and folders before you can access it.

I recommend downloading a portable version of Firefox from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable. You can install it on a USB key and bring it with you to any computer, and it'll retain all of your settings and bookmarks.

    Better idea.

Firefox is actually already on a lot of the machines, it's just hidden well. The non saving of settings is intentional and is something you will have to live with unless you go the route suggested by Stephen.
