1yr old Pedigree Male West highland white terrier free to adult home. He is named Oscar, and is fully vaccinated and wormed. Oscars owners are no longer able to keep him as he does not get along with children. This dog would make a great pet for a person living alone or a couple who could give him the time and care he deserves. If you are interested in giving Oscar a home or would like to know more please email me at houndsoflove.ie@gmail.com Oscar is living in the Limerick area.

You may want to consider neutering him before rehoming... just to make sure he ends up in the right hands.

I suggested to the owners of this dog that it would be a good idea to get him neuterd, but the husband won't agree to it because he is a pedigree westie.

... just like every other westie in the country... :( I'm sure he has 'champion bloodlines' as well

This westie is a good breed of westie. He is only 1yr and he has a good thick coat and no skin conditions, the parents of this westie has won many competitions in England (crufts dog show) for example. So if someone wanted to show this westie he can't be neutered.

I get what you're saying. But if this dog really is aggressive to children (and its not just a training issue) he should be neutered straight away anyway.

No aggressive dog should be used for breeding.

There is a lady who specialises in westie rescue, she's also an animal behaviourist (the real deal with a PhD and a primary degree in zoology). I'll pm her details to you if you're interested. It sounds like she could be a very good thing for this dog.

Hi Fits, where is this lady who runs the westie rescue located? It would be great if you could email me on her details houndsoflove.ie@gmail.com. It's a pity this family wants to give away this dog, it could probably all be solved if they would get this westie neutered.

    Thanks fits

She's in Dublin area, but I'm sure she could arrange transport if that were an issue. There's a network of people transporting rescue dogs all over Ireland all the time.
I just pm'ed you her phone number. Do give her a call.
