Is it Peter Bjorn and John 'Young Folk'?

FANTASTIC, don't know how you got it!
    Thanks :)

There's a song in an episode of Scrubs.
It's at Christmas, and Turk runs to the big christmas tree in the park where he finds the pregnant girl who ran away from the hospital.
There's a song playing. Anyone know what it is?
Can remember that episode, scene and music alongside it perfectly..

.. it was Nina Simone - Sinnerman

Shot in the dark but "Midnight At The Oasis" by Brand New Heavies (or Maria Muldaur who did the original)

This may have been asked before.... but I have no idea how to search for it.

If you have three or four consecutive words from a song, then most of the time this simple process will find you said song.

In this example, the lyric I have is 'save some face'. Type it into Google like this:
    lyric "save some face"

...being sure to use the double inverted commas around your lyrics, which is why the words should be consecutive.

The example above will bring up pages with the lyrics to The Killers - Smile Like You Mean It. You can then chance your arm by typing that into Youtube, and double-check to see if it's the song you're looking for.

The more obscure the song is, the harder it is to find naturally enough, but it's handy for the days when you're walking around a shop, hear a song and want to find out what it is.

You don't actually need to use inverted commas. You just need to put the word lyrics after the words you have and that generally works.

Usually it will, but searching for it as a phrase yields more accurate results, which comes in handy if you're looking for more obscure stuff, or different songs which have the same words

Here's one which I thought I had the exact line to when I heard it, but google is not working.

It's "Come on Georgie Boy" or "Go on, Geordie Boy", sung by a man with a lot of power in his voice. (Come on, Geordie Boooooyyyyyyyyyy)

Not a lot of instrumentation in the forefront of the song either. Sounds like a bit of a ballad... Any ideas anyone?

Shot in the dark but Pete Yorn - "Georgie Boy":
Eighteen men went into the house
And burned it to the ground
Two men came out from the house
    Never went to town
Everyone knew who the carpenter was
    Breaking everything
    Nathaniel was a lucky one
He had to get his things
    Georgie Boy, oh, Georgie Boy
    Sister Anne-Marie and a 12-year-old
    They left the burning town
Rode for miles on a subway train
That's how the legend went down
And, yeah, now you've been fooled
And now you can see that
    Nothing's gonna change
    It's the witches who know
They only do what they want
And then like to have someone explain
    Georgie Boy, oh, Georgie Boy
Now you can move and now you can sing
    Georgie Boy
Now it's over when you can't ascribe
You say now's the time for a different try
    But you have to tell

    Does running make that sound?
    Twenty years on
    It's a mission accomplished
    And everyone's feeling great
He says, "No one's ever gonna trap me down
    Or make me make mistakes."
    So now what you do
    And now what you say
    Means nothing to the rest
And you make a rich bitch
And you know what you are
Yeah, you find yourself in a purple dress
    Georgie Boy, oh, Georgie Boy
    And now you can move
    And now you can sing
    Georgie Boy, oh, Georgie Boy
Pete Yorn does like his ballads.

Thanks Basquille, but google had showed that up earlier and a trip to last.fm ruled that out.

BaZmO* gets the points in this round! Thanks a million for your answer. Google let me down after all.

I've just watched a drama on RTE called Eanair House based on novel by Maeve Binchy. There was one main song at the end of the film and it's killing me to know what it is.

Any help would be great, thanks xx

the hovis ad is the cute one with the kids growing up together. in a corn or wheat field. living on corn or wheat. have wheaty children. it's a piece of piano music.
and there was a haunting piece of music which seemed familiar on the ad for Passion of the Christ last week.
    thanks

    Horrible quality on youtube
This is a comment somebody left on YouTube:
"I found out from Hovis that the song is called 'Gold'. The musician was Charlie Morgan but sadly they arent planning to release it"
