Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I hope this is the right section. What i'm wanting to do is play downloads i have on my Pc on my Tv which is a Pioneer PDP-436XDE. I have a network where my downloads are stored so I'm either looking for a way to stream them to the tv (and possibly other tv's around the house?) or to just directly connect a laptop i have, a Sony Vgn-TX5XN. I don't know much about networks and new ways to do stuff like this but i'm open to any ideas, so fire away

Ok, well I don’t know loads about this but what I’m doing at the moment is hooking my laptop up to TV using a S-Video cable. Does the job ok but doesn’t carry audio.

What I plan on buying at some stage is something like this:

A network Media Player. Can take a hard drive and can be connected to a network to stream files directly from your computer.

    Hope this helps

I am going to be getting one of these soon, might be what you're looking for?

    :D
There's a version without the DVD drive for €50 cheaper.

There are other media streamers (is what they're called) out there, but this is the latest one and got a great review, see more here:

Hey I have the same TV and the same problem!!

I am looking at getting a media enclosure and putting a 500gb hard drive into it!
This media enclosure even has a network connection to hook it to my wireless router! It doesnt say what connection is uses though!

Not sure on reliability, I might post a new thread to see if anyone has an experience with media enclosures!

Apparently Maplins do this one so I might drop into them over the weekend!

I reckon one of the enclosures and a 500gb hard drive should be around the €250 mark!
