Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What is the best way to learn woodwork. Is it a case of learning by doing, i have a decent knowledge for DIY repair but would like to learn more, i.e. furniture making. I watched Norm on New Yankee Workshop and did learn some techniques. Would I be better doing some kind of woodwork course, never did woodwork in school all that time ago and only really learn when i need to do something. Does anybody know of any good courses in the Wexford area?

I think practice is the best way to learn stuff. There is a publishing house in the US called Tauntons and they publish FineWoodworking magazine and Fine Home Building. Some of the contributors have made instructional Dvds which are really top notch, you can buy they them from Tauntons for about 20 bucks or McQuillans in Capel street usually have a range of them. Watch one a couple of times and then go do it. Also there are plenty of week/weekend courses in England usually advertised in the back of woodworking magazines, don't know of any in Ireland though.
