Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

wireless internet

    Hi guys
    Hope ye had a good weekened
    Im over here in the states and I need to get internet
    Theres five of us living in the one apartment, and im going down now today to collect or installation kit with view to setting it up tonite.
    The signal will come in through the phoneline, but I want to be able to pick up a wireless signal around the house, since all of our laptops are equipped with wireless cards
    Just wondering what devices are required to get wireless internet on our laptops, how to confiugre the devices for it, and how to set a password so that the connection can be accessed by us only
    Woulkd really appreciate some help on this one

    You need either a wireless DSL modem, or if your ISP gives you a DSL modem, then a wireless router.

    Follow the manual on how to configure it (note that if you have the latter setup you need to put the modem into bridge mode, see the FAQ).

    As for security, again read the manual to set up WPA (more secure than WEP). This usually involves choosing a passphrase and then entering the same passphrase on teh laptop when you configure the wireless network.

    Be easier to give exact instuctions when you know what model of wireless device you buy.
