Intranet + integrated BBS system - Content ideas needed?

    I posted about this sometime ago. I’m working in an academic research department and have been tasked with setting up an intranet and integrated BBS (Vbulletin) system to share information and stimulate knowledge sharing. I’m trying to find idea’s for content and thought I’d post here to see if I could get some advice on your thoughts/ideas from your companies Intranet.

    So ideas so far are as follows:

    Intranet (to provide):
    Main/welcome page
    Biographies
    Recommended reading lists
    Internet links and useful resources
    Announcements
    upcoming events
    upcoming conferences

    Vbulletin (BBS system) (to provide):
    Projects section
    Pictures
    Announcements
    Surveys
    Section on social activities
    Presentations
    Tutorials

    I like having the Company phone book on the intranet

    ie Bob in accounts 9086 etc

    Document management including support for revision management

    Uploading documents and allowing people to upload revisions of the documents and view and access version history and the files at that point.

    I would also suggest output of documents as PDF
