How Do I Plaster a large hole?

I have to raise the waste pipe of a sink so I had to knock a hole in the wall to gain access to it. See attached pic for hole and current setup. I intend to put the pipe back into the wall and take it out again at the top of the hole rather than at the bottom as it is now. I'm left with a large hole in the wall though where the pipe used to exit and all the way up to where it will be exiting now.
How do I close this up and plaster it? It doesn't have to be a really tidy job as I will be tiling over it anyway. Any help would be great.

U cud fill it with a large filler.
Suppose 2 ways really, cut back the plaster board to the timber and put in a new piece of platerboard or plywood, a lot tidier and stronger or else just pack with fibre glass, there is a mesh you can get that you can put over the face of the hole and then plaster over it. IF it is been tiled and is behind the handbasin it will not be at risk of pressure so the 2nd option cud be used.
