Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Setanta Cup previews 16/4/07

Having already secured top spot in Setanta Sports Cup Group Two, St Patrick's Athletic may rest some players for tonight's final group game with Portadown at Shamrock Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

Defender Stephen Brennan (thigh) and midfielder Joseph Ndo (ankle) will be rested, both are on yellow cards in any case, while Barry Ryan, John Frost and Stephen Quigley are also likely to sit the match out due to the risk of suspension as Pat's are already guaranteed a home semi-final.

U-21 goalkeeper Brendan Clarke may come in for his first game of the season, while recent super sub Mark Rooney and American Ryan Guy, who has appeared in the last two games, may make a start.

Anthony Murphy is still injured though had a work out before Friday's game with Bohemians. Ports have had a disastrous Setanta Sports Cup campaign once again and have nothing to play for.

Peter Kennedy is out having picked up two yellow cards.

I have no idea who will play tonight afaik we looking for dispensation to play Paisley and some u21s  Cant see us winning so will take 0-0 to stay unbeaten but doubt it.
Only a seven goal defeat to Dungannon Swifts can prevent Cork joining St Patrick's Athletic in the semi-finals of the Setanta Sports Cup as runners-up from Group Two, kick-off 7.45pm.

With key players, midfielder Joe Gamble and striker Roy O'Donovan on yellow cards, boss Damien Richardson is unlikely to risk them with the semi-final in mind.

Mark McNulty is set to start in goal and Brian O'Callaghan comes into the side following a groin strain. Brendan Daly, an 18-year-old right-sided midfielder, may make his full debut.

Swifts boss Harry Fay admits that his side appear to only have eyes for their debut in the Irish Cup final.

I thought Pats were taking the piss till i saw Cork have Harrington on the bench :D

    whats the margin of error.

Even if it was 100% your're only talking 200 people.

Does the irish League love being pathetic or what?

Shame about Swifts decent side best team we have played this season even tho we won 5-0 at home the away game they were excellent and dont deserve to be labelled as **** like the other team in that group who was quite frankly ****. Swifts have a decent keeper too.

Totally agree, what the fcuk was Richardson thinking? There was absolutely no need for Donovan to come on last night. Absolutely mind boggling decision.

    Derry 1 up

    Kevin Deery shot outside box.

Derry are playing much the better. Drogheda disappointing. Not getting on the ball.

    Derry's goalkeepers strike again.

Jennings lets the an easy ball loose for Tony Grant to tap in.

    Derry much the better team.

    FT 2-1 to Drogheda

    Goal by Zayed.

Another poor attempt from goalkeeper. Hospital pass from Roger in fairness.

Biscuits still playing on the bench at City if they are looking:D

Cant see Cork beating Linfield without Roy, ricos managerial skills have to be questioned on playing him last night.
