and 15 for oc i think.

There is no realistic lifeline on them really. The manufactirers say a verclocked cpu does not last as long, but i have a old M2500+ in my shuttle still going at 2.5ghz and has been for about 5 years now. Where i know others with the same chip and it only lasted a few months.

Its all down to luck, and the way the planets allign, or something like that

Ah right ok! I was curious.... Im going try upgrade every 2 - 3 years from now on.. I was curious as to how long it would last lol..

Was it right the way I said trying to get maximum overclock without upping the voltage?

Upping the voltage doesn't sound too healthy! Is it ok to a certain degree?

With the ram I have I have to set the voltage up to 2.1 to get it at 1066 Mhz if its only running at 800Mhz

The biggest killer is heat. As long as you keep voltages within a healthy range (i think anything above 1.6V vcore is not good for conroe?) you should be fine. Heat is what will cause your hardware to fail and decreases the life of your CPU. Very high voltages lead to "electron migration" or "you cpu is screwed".

Just keep pushing the FSB until it needs a bit of extra juice. If you can get it stable at 3GHz on stock then bravo, but its just about testing your hardware and a bit of luck.

So for my cpu as you say I should start by setting the multiplier to 8 and the fsb to 300 and go up in 10Mhz from there!?

Would it be dangerous leaving it at 9 and setting the fsb to 300? Sorry if that sounds wrong lol

Its based on the 680i chipset so it will be the same, the only differences are the ammount of sata ports, onboard sound, overclocking options.

I can unlink memory and CPU and overclock them on there own which im happy about I have no need to overclock my ram..

Also its got an automatic overclocking system that boosts your whole pc up at certain percentages like 2% 3% 5% 7% and 10% I think..

Ill prob just stick to using bios its what im getting use to anyway!

It comes with a sound card which I wont need as im getting a seperate one!

Yeah alot of motherboards are comming with daughter-boards these days. I had one with my dfi board. Never used it. And never will.

Bit of a waste of money tbh, as it probably added on 20-30€ to the price of the board.
