From the Countryside Alliance Ireland website:
    N.R.A.I F Class Annual League 07 - Update

February saw the return of the annual National Rifle Association of Ireland F Class league held at the Midlands Shooting Centre of Ireland in Tullamore. The league has grown from strength to strength over the past few years with great help from the international match held at the grounds last May where teams from over the U.K competed for the honours.

The competition was such a success that there are entries for this years international from Great Britain, United States of America, Canada, and of course the host nation the Republic of Ireland. The domestic league under F Class rules is shot at distances of 300 – 1000 yards.

There have been 4 rounds completed and 2 still left to run. The leader board is very close in the open class Liam Jennings is currently on top of the pile but by just 1 point. Anthony Dunne is in second place and last years league winner Dave O’Hara 1 point behind him in third. The Sporter class is currently being led by Matt Mullen who is shooting very well with 3 wins from 4 shoots. Paul Cassidy is second and Stephen Hogan is third.

We have a few of the Target rifle shooters who are pushing the F Class shooters hard in the Sporter class proving that it is the marksman that makes the difference and that F Class can be enjoyed by all rifle shooters of any calibre below 8mm. This year’s International shoot is taking place at the Midland Shooting Centre just outside Tullamore in Blueball on the 4th-6th May.

If you can make it along to support the home team shooting against the visiting American and G.B teams you will enjoy the weekend and the spectacle of the fastest growing rifle sport in the world. With the development of a 1000yrd range and the European and World championships just around the corner it is an exciting time for the Republic of Ireland team.
