Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey all, I was just wondering if it was possible to watch dvds on a laptop without a proper dvd player?
Is there any possible downloadable software i can get to do this?
    Any help would be great.
    Thank you.

i think no. like i do not think a cd-drive can read a dvd-disc due to possibly hardware-firmware-driver incompatibilities. but i could be wrong and if i am somebody please correct me.

if you have dvd drive (say read only) then yes you can download free software to watch a dvd disc e.g. google "VLC viewer"

VLC is a pretty popular viewer though there are many other free and popular viewers out there too.

You must have a DVD drive , no CD player can read a DVD , the laser is focused differently , a DVD drive can read a CD , but not the other way round.

If you have a DVD drive and just need software , there a lots of free choices on the net , VLC is probably the best !!

You can (via methods not mentioned here) copy the DVD disc contents and have them stored on a HDD and in return they can be opened in powerDVD etc from the HDD.

You can also have them copied to .iso format and mounted onto a virtual drive with powerISO.
