Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi.
with high-end phones like the nokia n95/htc 4550 etc incorporating almost every feature under the sun in a handset now (hsdpa, wifi, gps, digital camera etc) i'm just wondering what other people here think are the likely areas for handset evolution in the near future.

e.g is handset battery life likely to improve in the near future?
or is digital tv reception likely to be a big feature?
will voip take over and be revolutionary in terms of call-costs etc

i would be interested to hear what others think will happen.

One thing I thought about there the other day..

What about multi-sim tabbed networking.. ?? Think about it..

You open the back of your phone, there's, say, 3 slots for SIM cards. Load em up with 3 different pay as you go SIM cards, then turn the phone on. The phone in turn registers with the 3 networks, so now, effectively, you can have 3 numbers on the one phone. Simply ALT+TAB (or whatever) to the desired network when you make calls!

    Very handy for
    a) having work/personal/illicit lover phone numbers
    b) reducing costs of on-net voice/text
    c) reduce roaming charges by loading another SIM into your phone while abroad
    d) having access to new technology, through USIM, but without having to keep switching SIM cards
    e) testing/comparing different network capability

    Well??

this is true. i said that in the sentence you quoted :)

the phone would have to have two signal receivers built in. basically it'd have to be two phones with the same interface. don't see it happening tbh but that's not what this thread is about :)

what i want to see is a phone that does the dishes. get onto steve jobs, we want an iDish
