    Hi All,

Following on from a conversation here is the office earlier, I'm wondering is it still possible to buy a rabbit from a butchers. I remember my mother cooking rabbit stew years ago (damn tasty) and I had rabbit in Switzerland a few years ago.

So, does anybody know if rabbit meat is still on sale and if so, where can I buy it?

    Thanks.

I am not sure that any butchers sells rabbit anymore, you can still get it in restaurants so it must be available, but maybe you will have to order it.
OR you could make friends with a sporting person and get them to supply you with wabbit.
I must have given away 20 or thirty last year to friends;)

Aye game meat like rabbit would be a fairly niche market these days, you are looking either for a specialist butcher or a friend who hunts. Or if you feel up to it you could go hunting with said friend.

I was also on the lookout for rabbit a few months ago. You are gonna have to find some shop that specialises in meat like that. Although the Fallon and Byrne supermarket does have like rabbit leg/breast @ 7euros a pop. Not a full rabbit, but still very tasty.

Theres two supposedly good places i've been meaning to try for rabbit+other interesting food, Donnybrook Fair, and some new Meat place in sandymount. Rabbit stew mmmmm

Downey's in Terenure should either have it or be willing to order it for you.

McLoughlin's in Rush sell frozen rabbits.

That reminds me of a joke:
    Q. What do you do with a wok?
    A. Twow it at a wabbit!
